Senator Tim Johnson did not have stroke
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061214/ap_on_go_co/johnson

...Johnson, who turns 60 on Dec. 28, was admitted to George Washington University Hospital with an undiagnosed illness, said a spokeswoman, Julianne Fisher.

She said, however, the senator did not suffer a stroke or heart attack. His office had said earlier it was a possible stroke.

Johnson became disoriented during a conference call with reporters at midday Wednesday, stuttering in response to a question. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where doctors were evaluating his condition. .....

3. One report is low blood sugar
I don't know if this is the case, but if you have glucose problems, I know from personal experience a drop in blood sugar can do a number on you. He needs to keep peanuts or another form of quick protein with him if this is the case, or take chromate to equalize the glucose level.

4. Good, but WTF is wrong?
Maybe just exhaustion or something. Hopefully it is nothing that will take him out of the Senate for 2 years. I wish him well personally and all that, but I am more worried about the nation.

10. Maybe someone slipped him a mickey?
Something like GHB. This is getting strange and suspicious even with the little info we have.

16. Gloria Borger was almost wetting her pants on CBS tonight.
Could barely keep her eyes from popping out of her head with the notion that the 'pubs would retake the Senate (what with Big Dick being the deciding vote).

Can't stand that woman.

"Dadgumit! He was supposed to have a stroke!"

On edit: Now it seems it may still be serious, and the comment I made in a snide joking manner was only intended in a snide joking manner. I hope for the best for the Senator. My apologies if this post seems insensitive now.

17. There is a national collective sigh of relief...
That Senator Tim Johnson did not have stroke... but we should all ponder this moment to consider...

John F. Kennedy...

Martin Luther King, Jr....

Robert F. Kennedy...

John F. Kennedy Jr....

Paul D. Wellstone...

there is a pattern...

there is a dread...

of progressives' assassination...

Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 09:37 PM by in_cog_ni_to
Sometimes I think it would be better to remain uninformed about politics and the world in general.:(

No one will ever convince me that all these Democrats DYING at VERY opportune times for repukes, is a coincidence, but the TRUTH will never come out because it's the GOVERNMENT.

27. I stand corrected... he is not a progressive, but...
If he should be replaced by a republican...

it would unravel the fabric of this nation...

It would be a bullet through the heart of liberty.

28. I will pray for Sen. Johnson but I am not as worried about Senate as some of you are
Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 04:30 AM by Jennicut
Even if Republicans take back control of the Senate, its still only two years until the next election and if the Repugs keep abusing their powers than they will really take a beating in 2008. If the unfortunate event occurs where Sen. Johnson dies or is incapacitated and that crazy idiot gov in South Dakota appoints a real right wing Republican it will piss people off even more. It will be bad for the Repugs. Yes, I want to maintain control of the Senate but the Repugs had better play this one straight and narrow or it could come back to really bite them in their collective ugly asses. Combine that with Bushie still not acting on Iraq and we will have a disgruntled public. If Cheney was the deciding vote and he votes against legislation that most of the public wants, it won't look good for the Repugs and some Repug Senators might be worried about reelection and jump ship to the other side.
I just hope Sen. Johnson will be okay for his family's sake.

The timing of this is too weird. Did the Neocons just pull a "Putin" on Johnson?
