All politics All the time....Experts Advise Bush Not to Reduce Troops
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 08:51 AM by spanone
I call bullshit. Bush* is using this Congressional break to have HIS EXPERTS tell the American people to not reduce the troops.

Anyone else find it AMAZING that these 'historians' and retired 'generals' totally agree with the Bush* administrations assessment of the ISG - damned near word for word what the prez said.

~snip~ The three retired generals and two academics disagreed in particular with the study group's plans to reduce the number of U.S. combat troops in Iraq and to reach out for help to Iran and Syria, according to sources familiar with the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the session was private.

BUSH* IS NOT SEEKING ADVICE, THIS IS PROPAGANDA TO KEEP HIS WAR AFLOAT IHMO

1. He's ONLY seeking advice from
people who also disagree on the ISG, so the results can/will be skewed in his favor. He's not even considering how we, the people, feel. As I've said time and again, this clown is holding the US hostage!:grr: So when will some brave soul point that out and do something about it?

2. Well he needs to stop carving his propaganda on the headstones of other people's children....
I've never said (seriously, anyway) that I hate anyone, but I hate this S.O.B., I really do.

3. Same way they alwaya had the timely terror alerts
It’s like they are always pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

I will say, that they seem to have compassion for the Iraqi’s and this is over the American troops. They call it a mess that they cannot leave. After the bombs dropped did they have a change of mind and now its healing time? If this was the case then why not talk to Iran and do more healing?

5. Compassion for Iraqis? I wish you had seen Kucinich on CSPAN
yesterday with the authors of the Lancet report. This is the report that estimates 650,000 dead Iraqis and counting, the same report that this admin won't admit to or own. I think you confuse compassion with dimson's inability to admit he made a mistake regardless of how much blood is spilled, American or Iraqi.
And welcome to DU!

6. Well no I was being sarcastic
It's about Bush not wanting to leave Iraq, because the Iraqi's have a mess on their hands. So my point was that he didn't have this helping attitude when he bmbed Iraq orthe Abu Ghraibtorture

4. Juan Cole noted it today....

Bush met Monday with Neoconservative Elliot Cohen and a handful of retired generals who oppose any reduction in US troop levels in Iraq. Giving this small random group a high-profile hearing contradicts the basic principle that when someone gets you into a mess, you stop following their advice.
