1. Start worrying when the new congress gets sworn in
That's when they'll REALLY need a distraction. I'm flying that week and it has me worried.

2. I'm not overly worried right now...
I think Poppy's gang of criminals has neutered Jr.'s gang of criminals. The corporate overlords must have become very worried about the prospect of a full conflagration in the Middle East and put the brakes on it.

There's no way the Joint Chiefs are going to let anyone push any buttons, right now.

The only buttons that are going to be answered are for the White House physician. "Another dose of anti-depressants, Mr. President? No, you can't have another Jack Daniels to wash it down with. How about you, Mr. President? Here, this will help you with the weeping"

6. You're an optimist, right?
You sure do give a lot of undeserved credit to the Joint Chiefs. So far they've been nothing more then the 'suck-up' boys for this entire fiasco.

I don't trust them anymore then I trust Bush and his Neocon buddies.

8. Somebody's been calling the shots.
Somebody said, we're going to let the Plame case be prosecuted.

Somebody said, we're not going to bomb the reactor at Bushehr.

Somebody said, there's not going to be an October Surprise.

I figure if it hasn't been Poppy and Uncle Jim B (it hasn't), it's gotta have been the Pentagon brass. Who else has the power to stand down the President?

I'm open to alternative nominations or explanations for this.

11. Maybe there is a collective mutiny...
among spook central. When you think about it, they would need full cooperation from that bunch for any of those things to happen.

and the FBI.

Richard Nixon learned the hard way that there really is a power in Washington greater than the Oval Office. Now, it's the Bush clan's turn to be instructed.

This is really rather like a chapter out of the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. With helicopters and universal electronic surveillance.

5. I'm hoping they've been defanged
Well, maybe not quite yet, but, enough people are looking at them right now that they'll be caught whatever they try to do. They may get a temporary reprieve enough time to make a getaway, but, they're busted the whole stinking lot of them. Even the most dense of this gang should be able to see that the clock is running out, if they have any sense at all the rats will be scurrying off to their hidey holes while they can.

7. Well you know I hope you're right but so far the crime crew haven't let being under the microscope
deter them from their evil deeds. Hell bush* just tells us and then challenges us to do anything. Today I worry

9. We've had a zillion false alarm "suspicious packages" here
in DC this week. My husband's office was evacuated yesterday afternoon,
and they had to work in the "Hinckley" Hilton across the street.

So far, the media hairdos haven't jumped on the diversion stories.
