THE Solution to the Illegal Immigration Problem

I find myself in complete agreement with Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. We need to build a 700 mile wall between our country and Mexico, just like Mitt says. It's the only way to keep out those pesky Aliens from trying to undermine our American way of life.

Here's my idea though, let's dedicate the wall to a famous, talented, and patriotic LEGAL American immigrant.

My candidate is a Jewish immigrant from Russia (immigrated in 1891) and worked his way up, lifting himself up by his bootstraps all the way. He also served in the US Army in WWI. He wrote American classics like White Christmas, Cheek to Cheek, Puttin on the Ritz, and the uber-Patriotic classic anthem GOD BLESS AMERICA. Surely the genius who wrote GOD BLESS AMERICA should have a wall named after him, a wall that keeps America American.

Yes, my fellow Americans, please support me in my efforts to get the Mexican-American border wall named and dedicated after the great composer, musician and American: IRVING BERLIN.

Yes, my fellow Americans, with your efforts, someday soon, we can have our very own BERLIN WALL RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA.

finds out about it, then they have to let them go. No jobs, no problem.

But as it is now, its not easy for an employer to figure out if they are employing illegal immigrants because the govt doesn't allow a system for it. If someone has documentation and paperwork and its filed, what is the employer supposed to do to hunt down the info?

This is really a no-brainer here.

A good try at a play on words, but there's too many holes. Immigration isn't a problem (like Berlin and his family who immigrated legally in 1891). It's illegal immigration. In addition the Berlin Wall was a very different physical and political entity. It kept people in, not out.

A wall on our southern border won't be oppressing anyone. It will just be completely ineffectual and be a waste of money.
