Bush* will FORCE Dems to withhold funding for war.
This is the only thing I can imagine they are up to. Bush* is either insane or really clever. I'd bet insane. I believe he's going to force the Dems to cut the funding to end the war, trying to paint them as resposible for the ensuing disaster. WON'T WORK GEORGE. IMHO

1. Cut Funding?
Been thinking of this for a while. Agree that Congress will have to cut funding for the financing the war in Iraq. However, they may have to go further in that the President may choose to divert funds from elsewhere to continue his failed effort. Congress may have to pass a veto proof measure specifying in very careful language what money may/maynot be spent and how spent.

2. Letter I sent to my congresscritters on this:
No More War Funding

American citizens spoke loud and clear November 7.

We've had enough of President Bush and Congress waging war. No more funding for imperialist wars that benefit no one but defense contractors. Please support the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace instead. Our country needs to begin making amends to the Iraqi people and all the others who are suffering under Bush's wrong-headed foreign policy.

Congress should investigate fraud and waste surrounding the billions already allocated to no-bid contractors and uncover secret budgets within the Pentagon. Let them operate off that and you focus on America's need for better healthcare, jobs and education.

Congress, and ultimately the American people, are responsible for hundreds of thousands of innocent lives in the Middle East, and the directly related downward slide of our own quality of life.

Please don't let another holiday season pass without taking immediate action to end the bloodshed in Iraq. I don't know about you but I cannot with a clean conscience celebrate any holidays while innocent babies, children, men and women are suffering because of U.S. government policies. It is hypocritical for Americans to be out shopping and planning to celebrate the birth of the prince of peace while we continue to wage a war based on lies in the Middle East.

Supporting peace and prosperity here and abroad will pay higher dividends to all.

The American people have spoken. Now it's your turn.

3. Reid has stated flat out they will not cut funding for Iraq
They are afraid they will look unpatriotic. The two things America spoke strongly about Impeachment and ending the Iraq war are "Off the Table" Dem seem to talk the talk but when it gets down to it the don't walk the walk.. Nader sure was wrong on this one wasn't he? There is just soo much difference between the parties..

4. i hadnt thought of that. it would work for the repugs. clever on
their part. that would do horrible for us. but, bush still may not let that stop him. there have been other times when funding was specific and he broke the law and applied the money elsewhere. i dont think bush is thinking this. it may be what dems are left with and personally i dont think it is a good thing. american people oppose the war but they arent at not funding yet, in my eyes. even if dems were courageous enough to do it i think it would hurt them, and not get the deisred results

6. No doubt about it....
his strategy for the next two years is to force as many confrontations with the Democratic Party as possible. He wants a stalemate so that they can point to how ineffective governance by Democrats is.

Mark my words on this one.....

It's ALL about politics.

I think Cheney is in revenge mode.
