3. Thom Hartmann is taking over Franken's time slot and Hartman will do well. PLUS AAR
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 06:35 PM by GreenTea
will save a shitload of money now that Franken will be leaving on the 10th of next month.
(Franken had the best time slot for talk radio...Hartmann will kickass on AAR in that slot).

As well as Air America Radio picking up new sponsors & advertisers everyday it seems....Bankruptcy will give AAR a new start, getting rid of the annoying creditors picking at their profit margin...and AAR has a lot more assets and things in place than they did when they first started and went on the air....

And if YOU want to help liberal radio stay on the air...Then join AAR premium (it's only ten bucks a month).

4. Franken's not leaving AAR — he will be going to Iraq for the USO
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-young/frankens-leaving-alright_b_34403.html

Right Wing media outlets in the know about liberal talk, reported the breaking "news" that Al Franken would be leaving Air America on 12/8. Newsbusters, Brian Maloney's Radioequalizer, and a number of other sites all gleefully reported Al's departure from AA.

One right wing site announced that they only reported on the story because it could be "verified via the affiliates." Perhaps they got the info from the same guy at the Quake in San Francisco who has posted premature and inaccurate news of Al's departure in the past.

Even an idjut from Huffington Post, who sometimes uses my body, took off with the story.

5. Well hopefully AAR won't have to pay Franken's humongous salary, while he's away...
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 06:44 PM by GreenTea
So when is Franken scheduled to be back on the air after the 10th?

I believe he will be gone....I'm personally looking forward to a much more talented radio pro in Thom Hartmann...

Franken is a fine comedian, funny, somewhat irreverent and liberal...But far from a seasoned radio man or a good interviewer.....Hartmann is though!

6. They haven't been paying his "humongous" salary for some time. They
owe him hundreds of thousands of dollars — the bankruptcy papers say that. Franken has been working gratis.

7. So you believe Franken will continue to work for free after the 10th?
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 06:48 PM by GreenTea
And keep working, and then what, sue AAR for what he feels he'll owed as he continues working?

I don't think so.

I believe he'll be gone.

We'll certainly see...

8. He's been working for free for some time, he'll probably continue, since AAR
means something to him.

How come no one ever whines about Randi's "humongous" salary, which, after her renegotiation is in the millions of dollars?

10. I like Al no matter what anyone says. Randi too.
At some point Al may be breaking away to run against Noami Coleman. He was asked by Dobbs last Fri? and said he would be deciding with his family over the weekend. I haven't heard of any decision. Anyone know about that?

11. Hmmmmm...In my book she's worth it. As is Malloy, Hartmann & Collins but receive a fraction.
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 07:07 PM by GreenTea
Your asking a person who thinks Franken's a good visual comedian, a liberal who wants to run for senate...On radio I find Franken dry & boring his radio cadence to me is just tiring & dull and he tells many unfunny jokes, (over & over, he's not a radio pro). I also don't find him as liberal as I am, or the others I mentioned above And yet Franken was given the primal time slot for talk radio....I'd like to see what Hartmann can do with that slot.

12. He gets the biggest audience, he's paid big. That's show biz. Randi gets
the second largest audience, she got a big raise.

17. As I told you before over & over, that time slot dictates the largest audience...
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 07:04 PM by GreenTea
Now we can go over & over this again if you like...but I'll never budge, nor will you...

I simply want to see a radio pro like Hartmann bring in even bigger numbers than Franken in that AAR prime talk radio time slot!!!!!!

9. so what's your beef with Al?
first you accuse him of unfettered greed (without checking the facts BTW) then you keep on pushing this 'either/or' situation, so what do you have against Al? Thom is a good guy and i listen to him at work, but I do miss 'Wait, Wait Don't Lie to Me' :toast:

His singing "gags" just make me want to gag - it's just not something many folks can take day in and day out.

20. I support Al
or anyone else on radio or tv, who uses the truth to bash the rethugs. BTW I've wondered why Soros can't use some of his cash for AAR, he can afford it.
