Do we have a veto proof majority in Congress for stem cell research?

I was doing a head count of the last Senate vote on the stem cell bill, and assuming all of the newly elected Democrats vote yes (Lieberman voted yes, btw), along with all of the Republic senators who voted yes, that gives us 66 votes. Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted no last time. Perhaps with re-election at his back, he can be persuaded to switch?

I don't know about the House, but I think this is worth a try.

3. my recollection is that the vote in the house was around 45 short

of the number that would be needed to override. Hard to say how many of the opponents lost, retired, etc. Would be closer, but unclear what the outcome would be
