4. An excerpt from the article:
At a listening session in Onalaska City Hall, Feingold talked enthusiastically about chairing the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Constitution Subcommittee — and getting to hold hearings about the loss of habeas corpus.

About 50 people listened as Feingold answered audience questions that ranged from fixing Medicare Part D to freeing up money for a new U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service office in La Crosse County.

And, of course, there were questions and praise for Feingold about his positions on Iraq and the Patriot Act.

“I’m not anti-war ... I think we need to be very, very tough on those who have attacked us,” Feingold said. “But this war was one of the dumbest decisions in the history of the United States of America.”

Thank you, Russ. :patriot:

5. That must have been a great listening session.
I'm sorry I missed it because I am just a couple of miles from Onalaska. Feingold can be reelected as a Senator from Wisconsin every time he runs. I happened to see an old Readers Digest the other day from preelection 2004 which listed the quality of a presidential candidate that people desire the most and #1 was "says what he means and means what he says". That is Russ Feingold and he is trusted and admired by many here in Wisconsin.

9. interesting - article also quotes Russ saying no impeachment.
which makes total sense to me, regardless of what Bush deserves. Bush may *deserve* to be tortured in Guantanamo but it is not necessarily the top priority while we are stopping hundreds from dying every day in Iraq and stopping the hemorrhaging of money to criminals etc.
