There are several things which make The Daily Show great.

Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart.

Oh, and did I mention Jon Stewart?

Really, though Daily Show is great because Jon Stewart often asks tough questions, but in a very nice and non-confrontational way. When some one is being an ass, Jon Stewart makes his point, but in such a way that you aren't quite sure he isn't joking. Plus, Jon Stewart makes fun of Democrats too, he's not a partisan hack or idealogue like so many "real news" pundits.

Other than Dennis Miller, which another poster here already mentioned, I don't see the Conservative News Humor really flying. I'm not even sure about Miller, he's kind of mean. Even before he became a BushCo Apologist, he could get kind of biting. Still, he is kind of funny sometimes.
