Terror list causes US bond trader four-month delay at immigration

NEW YORK (AFP) - An Indian-born bond trader whose name matched that of a suspect
on a terrorism watch list spent four months in Canada when US authorities refused
to allow him back into the country after a holiday.

Amir Khan, who had taken a summer break in Toronto with his wife and children and
was refused entry when he wanted to return home, ended up spending 116 days in
Canada pending security checks, according to the New York Daily News.

Khan and his family returned home on Thursday, four months after they left for their
break.

"My name's as common in South Asia as John Smith is in the USA," the paper quoted
the 38-year-old non-practicing Muslim as saying.
