What'd I miss w/Franken n Fund? What was the "your buddies" reference to?

On Hardball, Franken kept busting John Fund's stones about his crooked "buddies."

They're "your buddies!" he kept saying. He had Chris Matthews in stitches, and fund obviously didn't get the joke...but neither did I. Wussup?

I'm not sure what the joke was either, but it was funny to watch nevertheless.

2. It was just a joke but Fund didn't find it amusing; I don't think he got

it and took it personally. Finally Al clued him in.

Edit to add: the joke being Al referring to all the rethug crooks as Fund's friends.

4. Sheesh ... he got the joke when he

was beating up on Clinton and the Dems. Those Rethugs just don't have a sense of humor when the joke's on them. :rofl: I'm so sure Al Franken enjoyed sticking it to that stiff, Fund.

5. He said it once to skewer him and then

kept it up because it was working. With Franken's perfectly deadpan delivery, Fund never caught on that he was being poked and even argued the point, which only made it even funnier when Franken kept it up.

Explaining it doesn't really make it funnier because there's not really a joke that you're not getting. It's one of those things that amuses you or doesn't.

But I thought I must have missed some previous joke for Fund not to be getting something which seemed so obvious.
