My email to CNN/Headline News regarding Glenn Beck
Fire Glenn Beck NOW!!

There is no place on mainstream TV for bigots and racists. After his comments to a newly elected member of Congress on November 14, Glenn Beck has got to go! He's not funny, he's not "politically incorrect," he's just a racist.

10. Here:
CNN's Beck to first-ever Muslim congressman: "hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies' "

On the November 14 edition of his CNN Headline News program, Glenn Beck interviewed Rep.-elect Keith Ellison (D-MN), who became the first Muslim ever elected to Congress on November 7, and asked Ellison if he could "have five minutes here where we're just politically incorrect and I play the cards up on the table." After Ellison agreed, Beck said: "I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.' " Beck added: "I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way."

12. God Damn
What an asshole. What an absolutely biggoted, incendiary thing to say. And I always hated the "I think I speak for a lot of people, when I say....." preamble. It's always bullshit.

I wish politicians weren't so pussified and could first respond to a question like that. "Well, that's an immensely ignorant and racist thing to even ask. People think I'm siding with the terrorists because I'm muslim? Screw them and screw you."

3. a nicer Rush Limbaugh?
I don't get it. Is CNN trying to show that they are unbiased and have someone on there who is a conservative? Are they looking for someone who is a nicer Rush Limbaugh? Are they just in a ratings war with FOX? I am not sure because I haven't seen a lot of this guy. It's not because I am in Iraq. It's because I work nights, and his show is on when I am at work.

Can someone give me a better opinion on why you think he is even on CNN to begin with? My gut feeling is that this is a move to pull viewers from foxnews. I got my degree in marketing and this feels like someone did some research into what people are watching at certain times and they went to CNN. CNN then went out and found someone that fit the mold of what people were watching and presto!!....the Glenn Beck show!!

What better way to draw in Freepers than with xenophobia and racism?

6. Pissed off Minnesotan writes to CNN:
As a Minnesotan who supported and am HAPPY to be represented by Keith Ellison, I am disgusted by Beck's mean-spirted, racist attack of Keith Ellison on prime time. Ellison won by a landslide. Beck's attack on Ellison was hurtful to all who are bouyed by Ellison's win. If Beck were fair or did a minimum of research he would have known that Ellison was also supported by leaders of the Jewish community because he works for peace and brotherhood. Isn't that something that is lacking in our world today?

Beck needs to apologize. CNN should not be surprised to see protestors in front of its doors soon proclaiming it to be a "racist, bigoted" station.

Ellison doesn't have to explain anything to Beck. But CNN needs to issue an apology to Ellison and to the state of Minnesota.

8. CNN wants any attention Glenn Beck can get.
It even bumped up their advertising for Beck.

Best way to get rid of him is not to write CNN and mention Beck in any context at all.

9. If bushbots are at 31%
why is 95% of cable news talking heads RW nutjobs? The other 69% of the country has no one speaking for them, or to them. Media executives, get a clue.

22. That's why Olbermann, Stewart and Colbert's ratings
are increasing and these RW maggots are decreasing.
If I were interested in serving the public, I would give them more of what they seem to want.
However, it leads one to wonder why nobody is doing that when a channel with a more liberal slant would obviously do better.
You probably don't want to hear the answer, but serving the public agenda has nothing to do with it and serving the corporate overlords has EVERYTHING to do with it.

17. The difference is that CNN has always considered themselves to be the
premier cable news channel (open to debate). There is no place for bigoted anchors on that channel.

A person like that, is too stupid to be on the air. Creating hate and discontent for ratings and brownie points.

14. Limbaugh resigns from ESPN's NFL pregame show
PHILADELPHIA -- Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh said Thursday he resigned from ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" pregame show to protect network employees from the uproar over critical comments he made about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Limbaugh quit late Wednesday, three days after saying on the show that McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.

"The great people at ESPN did not want to deal with this kind of reaction," Limbaugh told the National Association of Broadcasters at its convention in Philadelphia on Thursday. "The path of least resistance became for me to resign."

George Bodenheimer, president of ESPN and ABC Sports, accepted Limbaugh's resignation Wednesday. ABC and ESPN are owned by Walt Disney Co.More...
