They sure seem less fearsome than the Republicans. But I can't tell if this is a lame joke, or a lame group of wannabe fascists.

5. I Read Some Of It...
It really is modeled on the fascist parties of 1930's and 1940's Europe. Emphasis on the group instead of the individual and an emphasis on a directed economy with government control and assistance to private corporations.

6. Wanna be?
I don't think they are wanna bes. There a lot of these kind of groups all over the place.
They are the white-supremacists, and such among the population.

7. They claim to be non-racist....
but the uniformity, nationalistic and, I assume, authoritarian aspects to their movement sounds like North Korea. Stressing "all things great" means that which is not considered great gets crushed, as in capitalistic-anarchy. Also, I don't see how government can favor corporations without inherent corruption. It sounds like the worst of all possible worlds.

8. They Use Japan's MITI As Their Model
That was really in vogue with some Democrats in the early eighties...

The American automobile industry is in dire need help from someone but who and how.

9. I think the bottom line is that the culture of Japan was very disciplined...
teamwork is/was stressed to the nth degree where creativity and individualism was looked down upon and discouraged. In a way, this parallels the idea of fascism. Every process is analyzed for improvements in efficiency where small improvements are made gradually toward a larger goal, stressing lean production.

"The Machine that Changed the World" discusses how lean production revolutionized the Japanese auto industry. "The Goal" is a good book about the process of ongoing improvement.

I think people can be self-disciplined without resorting to a change in political structure.

I read where MITI tried to discourage Soichiro Honda from starting his own automobile company. He refused.
