I saw the cover of the new issue of Time
and I'm angry. We didn't re-elect poppy Bush to anything. Why are his minions taking over? We didn't even elect his little boy, why should we accept what it going on like he's the savior in chief?

1. Please pardon my very shallow point of view
but I do take some comfort in the idea that this cover will send the Chimp straight over the edge.

4. I thought of that too which is great, but the
fact that poppy Bush is injecting himself and his people into the whitehouse by virtue of his position as Bush's dad and a past president is just plain flat out wrong. There are other competent people expecially in light of the fact that Gates is a past Iran/Contra figure as is poppy bush.

2. The intervention of Bush Sr. is a bit out of the constitutional norm.
This is in fact a most unusual situation. We essentially have the father of sitting president replacing that president's cabinet with his own advisors.

Perhaps the senate ought to inquire about who exactly is in charge.

24. It may be out of the constitutional norm, but we all know
it's certainly not out of the Bush family norm. When hasn't Poppy bailed out Junior?
The senate would be wise to keep on top of this.

3. no blame
I don't blame Bush, Sr. for trying to bail out Jr. God only knows he needs it. The fact that Jr. might take anyone's advice is (God help us) an improvement.

12. Poppy
Poppy's ability to control and show up at the right place at the right time is impressivef, but he's never been able to control his errant son. At least not until now. Too bad the country's future might depend on the outcome of the struggle.

5. Who is this Iraq Study Group
that have been meeting for months that we are just finding out about?

They've really got balls to think they can just come in and take over and no one will mind.

16. One would hope they've at least done some homework this time around
"Iraq Study Group" does have that scholastic ring to it, but it also smells a lot like another "Clean Air Act"

They have balls for sure; the question is, do they have their shit together?

Poppy has been cleaning up after Junior all his life. It's not about to change now.

8. What I want to know is...
why the hell isn't Nancy Pelosi on the cover of Time and Newsweek?!? She made history!

Instead Poppy and the Chimp in Chief are on one cover and two big dots are on the other!!

I can't remember. Did they put Gingrich on the cover after the '94 midterms?

I'm really pissed about this.

11. Thanks...
for the links. It's what I figured. So much for the idea of the liberal-biased media.

I still can't believe that they didn't mark a history-making event. REALLY pisses me off.

At this rate, I wonder if they'll make her 'Person of the Year.'

15. that cover makes him look pathetic and petulant
and folks all over the country are going to see it at the checkout line. Diminished, needing daddy, and angry cuz he didn't get his way. There are plenty of covers that I am sure that Pelosi will grace in the future. But right now - building an even bigger impression of a weak, needy, unable to run his own WH bush... sets a good stage for the inevitable political confrontations that will begin in January.

the NEW CONGRESS!!

THIS is the new Media Mantra: Daddy will save the day, not those interloping Democrats.

So, let's make some popcorn, kick back with a tankard of our finest Schadenfreude (it's been aging in the cask for 12 years now) and watch what happens next.

I think we're in for a Fredo Corleone "I ain't dumb, not like everybody says!"

21. Junior is a fuck up. Daddy runs the show now.
Junior fucked up everything so bad his daddy had to step in to fix things. What I believe? That fuckface now controls nothing. That daddy told him to shut the fuck up, to watch, listen and learn.
