Best-qualified Democrat only won post because she was female?!
Oh boy! Way to spin this one HUGE win for Democrats in our state politics here in Florida.

This position has been described by Republicans as the second most powerful office in the State of Florida. And the voters in this state rejected career politician Tom Lee because he has no breasts? Give me a break. Rationalize this one away because of Ms. Sink's experience or her raising more money - DON'T you DARE suggest that the Democrats took this key position by more than 300,000 votes because she wears a skirt. All of these people didn't seem to need to bring that up.

In case you don't know, Ms. Sink ran all her print ads as "Alex" Sink. She is a down-to-earth ex-banker. It is not like she was playing up her Moxie and Spunk like Pink Sugar, for crying out loud.

For people to assume that she won this important post because of which side her buttons line up on is absurd.

They control EVERYTHING in this state, and feel the need to blame a humiliating defeat on gender.

But like other observers, Harris is quick to note Sink didn't win simply because she's female. Her resume - Sink is a former Florida president of Bank of America - and her promises to bring nonpartisan accountability to Tallahassee won the race, even if being female accounted for the point spread.

Even Lee agreed with that.

"I think her business resume gave her credibility," Lee said Tuesday night after he conceded the race. And her lack of a public service record made it difficult for his campaign to dispute Sink's claims to be a centrist. But being female helped her, Lee said.

People voted "R" on everything, but switched to "D" because she's a girl. How condescending, how bigoted. How Republican.

Next time Tom Lee could try again and wear a kilt at all campaign appearances. Why not suggest that option for him? I don't see the problem.

2. People really listened to her campaign - that's why she won
Tom Lee didn't even state his qualifications for this position. Alex stated the obvious - she has the experience for the job because she was the head of Bank of America. I think that resonated more with the voters than she was a terrible liberal that Tom Lee tried to make her out to be.

He also tried to be a Chub Bush clone. People were turned off
