http://cbs13.com/local/local_story_313203057.htmlSo Here we enter my narrative, speculative at best, total fiction at worst. But it is a springboard.
This guy wants to protect his family. They are faced with eviction, utilities being shut off, not enough food for the kids, and no medical care.
So he seeks out someone who has what he needs (oil/money). And he invades their home. In this case, no one was killed. In another case we all know of, thousands were killed.
He merely sought out a solution to a problem, to protect his small homeland/castle. To save the lives of all his family, he made a preemptive strike.
.....Yet
He has no political power. His going to jail won't make us fear we will lose a future election. It won't affect you at all. So off he goes to jail when captured. And one may simply say - rightly so.
There will be a lot of money spent finding this person, gathering evidence, and then bringing charges. His family will be ruined. Their lives devastated. But he made his choices, and he made the decision to do the wrong thing.
...
Do YOU REALLY BELIEVE bush acted in a criminal way and murdered thousands of people for oil and money? And then enriched his friends with lucrative contracts, spreading the stolen money around?Because THAT is the real issue. It is not about revenge, or how we look to others. It is about bringing a criminal to justice.
Feel free to give him and others a pass. Just make sure you open our prison doors while doing so. Unless it is only rich, powerful, white men who get to kill and rob and not have people looking for them to bring them to justice.
African-American and poor? You have no influence, so off to jail you go. You don't matter because we can win without you - but that rich white guy, well we might lose some votes if we look into his crimes and prosecute em. Tossing you to the wolves, see ya.
Seek to impeach? Not yet. Seek to find out if the laws were broken. And if they were, impeach. If we don't do that - we are giving a pass to anyone who wants something to just take it.
Or we can just go back to politics as usual, and run from confrontation and standing up for ALL people.
Same Shit, Different Day. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
We haven't really won, until we do something with the power entrusted to us to make this country a fair and level playing field for all people.
Or we can cower in the corners of history and live in fear of using the power given us to stand.
Go ahead bush, fill them caskets and your friends' coffers via crime. It's ok if you do it, we just want to win.
Flame away.
