Iraq - What's the point?

We lost 5 more men yesterday. That's 8 for November. The Iraqis want us out. Chirac called for all foreign troops to pull out yesterday. We're accomplishing nothing there. All objective comment is that there is no sense of national unity among the Iraqis themselves. Its bloody, pointless, and aimless. Why are we there? What are we accomplishing?
What are even trying to accomplish?

This is folly of the highest order. We need to leave. Now!

and it's failed miserably.To pull out admits they have been defeated and were wrong.
