Literally EVERY morning for the past 5+ years, I've gotten out of bed

hoping, HOPING to hear that somehow this inept criminal syndicate has been removed from power.
I go to my computer, or turn on the teevee...ears pricked for the slightest hint of impeachment, or arrest, or sudden massive coronary (Cheney), anything to indicate that it's almost OVER.
I'm beginning to allow myself to believe we are almost there; 2004 is still quite fresh in my mind;I stayed in bed for a week, stunned, furious, depressed.
Still, there is something in the air..Olbermann, and Kerry, and the gay-bashing (apparently) GAY Republican uber-minister..
Let's get out and vote on Tuesday and reclaim our Government and Country.
We've all suffered enough.

4. On the day that the SC stopped the '00 recount ...

it was a Saturday morning, I was cleaning house and listening to/watching some cable news channel when the announcement came. I stood in my living room and SCREAMED "NO" at the top of my lungs. It gave me a very sore throat. When Gore eventually conceded I collapsed and missed two days of work.

Not long after that, before the so-called inauguration of George II, I predicted to a friend that there would be an event that would lead to a curtailment of our civil liberties and possibly the declaration of martial law.

On 11/2/04 (oy! what an anniversary...) I was so distracted by the election I couldn't focus on work. I should have taken the day off. Instead, I went to a meeting and got blind-sided by a co-worker because of my state of distraction and almost lost my job.

So, like you, I am living in a state of suspension, wondering if and/or when this nightmare will end. I am especially haunted by the fact that my dad fought in and the Battle of the Bulge in the name of freedom and democracy -- and that it has all come crashing down around our heads on my/our watch.

6. I don't personally know any veterans, but I've often wondered

over the course of the last 5 years, what they must be thinking when they see someone so utterly unworthy of power, grabbing so much of it, and in the process destroying the Country they fought to protect.
I'd imagine they're more outraged than any of us..
