5. From Louisiana NAACP President Johnson:
The NAACP National Office is discussing the possibility of conducting a demonstration at Senator Landrieu's office in New Orleans on Friday January 27, 2006.
I will post information in Louisiana thread, unless it is appropriate to post that here.

14. I hope so ...
Not from LA, but I wrote her re supporting a filibuster ...

Filibuster Alito

There's nothing more important than saving our country and our Constitution; and, protecting We the People. There's nothing more important that you can do for your constituents and all Americans than filibustering Alito.

I'm 9th generation French Huguenot ... 'disobedience to tyrants is obedience to God' ... my ancestors were tutors to young Tom Jefferson and George Washington ... seasoning their minds through discourse of things fundamental to our country's principles ... liberty and justice, etc. ... the very ones this illegitimate, lying, corrupt, Treasury-thieving, traitorous cabal ONA the Bu$h Administration strive to destroy.

A no vote to confirm is nice, but not enough.

It's serious 'one if by land, two if by sea' time in America. If it were 1776 (and the situation is this grave), what would you do?

I wish Democrats on the Hill would say no more life-time appointments ... period ... after all we've seen from this culture of corruption and its arrogance of power (and, there's more to be seen yet) ... from stolen elections to lying us into war ... from stealing our treasury to dismantling our Constitution ... from gaveling meetings closed while Democrats are in mid-sentence to NOLA ... haven't these things been enough justification to finally draw the line?

Allowing this plutocrat, Bu$h's enabler, on the SCOTUS is the worst thing you can do to 'help' NOLA.

We the People are counting on you to stand up for our Founding Fathers and Mothers, our Principles and us ...

Paul Weyrich, one of the architects of ultra-right, said:

"We are no longer working to preserve the status quo. We are radicals, working to overturn the present power structure in this country."

That's what Alito's confirmation will help do.

Can you hear Mr. Weyrich clinking glasses with the likes of Abramhoff and Howard Ahmanson (the financier behind Diebold and ES&S) and Ollie North and Jerry Falwell and Ed Meese and everyone at the secretive Council for National Policy and at the Heritage Foundation and other right-wing think tanks ..... that's is who/what confirmation supports ... Bu$h said it right when he said 'you're either with us or against us' ... of course, he was speaking for the wrong side ... We the People are the correct side of our history ... please don't fail us by enabling them further with Alito.

What would Jefferson do?
What would he want you to do in his name?

23. No, it was not
We met in her office with Assistant to Chief of Staff, Marshall Hevron.
He was very nice.
What he had to say in response to our questions regarding her position and our positions in response to his answers was disheartening.
Almost like a punch in the stomach.
I did not expect for him to tell us what we wanted to hear.
But at the same time, I wanted to hear him say that she was on our side, the side of liberty, freedom and civil rights.
He did not.
