Kerry never talked the way he is now about setting a timetable for withdrawal in 2004. For all we know we'd still be in Iraq if Kerry were president. Maybe it would have a more international face and we'd be losing fewer troops, but Kerry gave no concrete indication he was against the war in '04.
He said in 2003 he'd never have gone into that war. I know you know that so why do you keep repeating the bullshit that he wasn't against the war? He also talked about pulling troops out because having our troops alone were causing the impression of occupation and fueling the insurgency. He specifically laid out a plan to pull out troops in 2005, and in 2005 he laid out a plan for beginning to bring home troops at Christmas. It really hurt the campaign that those on the left didn't help clarify the distinct difference and joined the media in painting them both as stay the course which they weren't in any way shape or form.
