I did the 'early vote' this year.
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 04:50 AM by dmosh42
I usually wait to vote on Election day, but this year with all the confusion that may happen, I looked into doing the early voting. They call it 'no-excuse' voting here in NC. Probably goes on all over the country. Anyway, I thought it was to be like the absentee ballot, on paper. But they had the machines, and I forgot the brand name of the manufacturer, but it wasn't Diebold. They have a touch button for a 'straight ticket', which puts check marks next to all the party you choose. I had never voted a 'straight' ticket, but I think the Repubs need a message, so gave them all to the Dems. Hopefully, they are counted properly here and all over, to give the crooks and traitors in control a message.

3. no paper trail
From what I know, and it has been posted on here, that's one of the big problems with these machines. The one I voted was very easy to understand, and on the left side there's what looks like paper on a roll that's showing the vote as you do the touchpad thing. Can't say it's a physical paper for a verification if they had to do it.

2. Yes. Used Absentee (Paper) Ballot. At Least I Held A Hard ...
copy before it went into the memory hole.

What's trust got to do with it?

Vote. But watch the person who counts the vote CLOSELY.

5. About 1/3 of the States have Early Voting
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 05:25 AM by DoYouEverWonder
Whatever method they use on election day is usually the method that they use in EV.

I voted yesterday too, but I live in a county with Optical Scanners, so at least we get a paper ballot.
