News blackout on the missing Army translator

Using Google news I can find only one story, from today, about this soldier:

The article in itself is interesting: apparently he is of Iraqi descent, and had married an Iraqi woman recently. But the silence on this is deafening: Israel has an abducted soldier and mounts a month-long campaign of devestation; the US has an abducted soldier and goes back to watching American Idol.

Does anybody know of any additional news on this guy? I've had my POW/MIA flag up for a week now.

I think that one reason that the media is not reporting on the soldier who is "status unknown" is that if we believe that he has been captured the question of torture will scream onto the front page of the papers. We've mentioned that when we torture other soldiers, ours are less safe, this would be the first example since the signing of the new law.
Let's hope that they are not doing to him what we do to the ones we capture.

Then people might start to realize US "interrogation" policies aren't such a good idea, after all.

7. It's possibly because the terrorists read the internets...

and they don't want to endanger our missing soldier.

That's what Keith Olbermann said is the usual policy when one of our own is captured.

I tend to believe Keith Olbermann.
