New poll shows Jefferson (D-LA) tied with Democratic challenger
http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/10/29/111855/59

An internal poll released by the Karen Carter for Congress Campaign in LA-2 shows that incumbent William Jefferson may be in trouble and headed for a runoff. Jefferson was stripped of his seat on the House Ways and Means Committee in an effort led by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi because of a federal bribery investigation underway involving Jefferson.

Carter has attracted the endorsements of a wide range of influential Democrats including former U.S. Senators John Breaux and J. Bennett Johnston and former Congressman Billy Tauzin and Chris John. Jefferson has held the seat since 1991 when Lindy Boggs retired.

Karen Carter 28
William Jefferson 28
Troy Carter 12
Derrick Shepherd 10
Joseph Lavigne 5
Others 3
Undecided 14

The run-off scenario polls as follows:

Karen Carter 52
William Jefferson 32
Other/Undecided 16

In case you're wondering that 5% Joe Lavigne guy is the only Repuke on this poll
So long Billy-boy, hope you've got plenty of cash stocked up in the fridge :hi:

3. Yup, eighteen months is an awfully long investigation and

4. I was wondering why that dipshit was still in Congress...
you'd think even the damn Republicans would have jumped on the chance to get his sorry thieving ass out of there!

I hate corruption, especially when it comes from Democrats! This man being in Congress makes us all look really fucking bad.
