I have never heard any candidate - especially any of the Big Three - come out and say anything this concise or passionate. Ordinary civilians on DU, yes. But Kerry, Gore and Clinton don't have the passion or the nerve - or their "handlers" have made sure they don't. Let alone the imaginary "Congressman" who would speak Trudeau's words.

Much as you might wish, folks, and much as this nation needs it, there ain't no Franklin Delano Roosevelt's or even John Fitzgerald Kennedy's running for office this time.

Before anybody starts getting snarky, I'm NOT saying "don't vote" and I'm NOT saying "vote Republican." I'm saying "don't get drunk or eat magic mushrooms when you listen to Democratic speeches."

16. I thought Trudeau's point concerned the use of straw men/women

in debating--starting with the "some people say" and then refuting it.

Republicans have used it for a long time and the media never call them on it.

13. Maybe We're On Different Planets Here But I Don't See What You People Do

What I see is a fictional Democrat who has lost all sense of perspective after years of having been beat on so hard. The final line that indicates that our very most important document is now just OK is the part that nails it and it shows how the Democrats have been beaten back to the point where they offer no real alternative to the miscreant viewpoint offered by the President.

So I think it is a slap in the face to Democrats who have failed our country - and that is one hell of a lot of them.
