JACKASS
Ever see the show?

My son tapes it religiously and we laugh like hell when it's on.
Funny....

But think again.
Why are you laughing so hard?

Remind you of anyone you know?
Can you identify with the insanity?

I look at my dad....88 years old....and he doesn't get it.
Why?

Because it's off the wall.

It's iconic of our culture....and our state of mind.

We're getting to this point.

Yes I know....Bush is probably the biggest JACKASS that's ever come to power...unfortunately with the world's most awesome army behind him....
It's possibly the most disturbing time in the history of the world.

But we can't just summarily dismiss why this insanity is so popular....why Americans tend to want to bend their necks to view the train wreck.
It is part of our culture. It's become a way of life in America.

Corporate America has become a large JACKASS show.
Our youth is turning into a JACKASS series that has no moral footing.

The rest of the world is looking on in disbelief.

Anger.
Disbelief.
Sensationalism gone mad.
It's the breakdown of our culture.

and it's not funny.
Because we're not a TV series....we're supposed to be a responsible country with responsible citizenry.

Time to push the Jackass back in the box.

6. yes, it's generational
I love Jackass, but we tried to show it to my father in law once, and he just sat there looking irritated. Then said "Those boys are idiots" and quietly left the room.

7. At least they understand the potential of nonlethal weapons,
unlike our police and military.

9. Another great point
Ironic, that the show Jackass flaunts the growing American desire to do off the wall things, yet in this apparent honesty and wreckless release, there is actually less of a tendency to display fear or hatred.

Yes...mix the great American jackass attitude with hatred, weaponry, and the real desire to take out vengence on one another, and you have the necessary ingredients for social self-destruction.

It's a perfect environment for electing jackass presidents and representatives which are championed by the right.

8. No comment?
But we can't just summarily dismiss why this insanity is so popular....why Americans tend to want to bend their necks to view the train wreck.
It is part of our culture. It's become a way of life in America.

Road rage.
Cutthroat business ethics....etc etc.
Why people can so easily buy into being manipulated.

An S&M way of thinking that has become so perverse we may not even be able to see the true humility of this so called war... or the essential roots of our capitalist demise.

I submit that we are turning into a nation of jackasses.
