Poll question: Is The "October Surprise" To Be The Bombing Of Iran?
The question is simple. Will Bush bomb Iran, probably its nuclear reactor(s), before the election to bolster the security stance of fellow Republicans?

1. I sure hope not.
I'm actually more concerned about what these crazies will do AFTER they lose the election.

2. No, more war is not going to help them at this point
It will just make them look even more, er, republican.

5. Yeah, I agree
A Bin Laden capture is really the only thing that could help at this point.

3. I have no idea.
I'd like to think it couldn't happen, but Bush scares me. What about the officers who would receive the orders? Would they have to decide whether or not these orders are legal? Would Bush attempt a sneak attack?

Here's another question: say Bush does bomb Iran without notifying anyone. Does this help him or sink him?

4. Those aren't the only two choices
He doesn't need UN approval.
Some people who know this might still think it won't be the Oct. Surprise.

6. None of the Above. Bush could and would Bomb Iran without UN
approval and has done so before. But not before the election.

9. I am thinking along the lines of another "terra" attack so
the alert can go high & the fear can get into full swing. It might not fool all of us, but it might regain some of their own "base" which they seem to be losing. It's all about strategy. Afterall Bush is not worried, Diebold can and always will come thru. What a surprise! :eyes: :sarcasm:

13.  It is a grave possibility
I feel these people will do anything to stay in power at this point and this is not outside their MO or their freaky nature . Nothing at this point would surprise me . Look at how the people who were affected by Katrina and how this still sits to this day , does anyone really think they care one bit about human life or the lost of it matters ?

14. No
Oil prices will skyrocket, which could further hurt the Republicans.

15. No, use of military action on the eve of the election would be seen
for what it would be--crass and political. It would backfire.
