AARP & their site www.DontVote.com WTF???
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 12:38 PM by Mind_your_head
I went to look at a news clip at CNN.com and had to listen to a 30 second ad clip sponsored by AARP - it was 30 seconds of 'regular people' saying, "Don't Vote, Don't Vote, Don't Vote" and then ends with "until you know how your candidate stands on the issues".

So I go over to www.dontvote.com to have a look...you're invited to click on your state to view where the candidates in your state stand on the issues....well, it doesn't work! "Page cannot be displayed" - there's nothing there about where the candidates stand on the issues. It's ridiculous!

The whole thing is just so wrong and negative. It seems like it's really encouraging people not to vote, like your vote doesn't count anyway, so why bother. Is this "Don't Vote" clip getting played on TeeVee? (I don't watch, so I wouldn't know). What do you all think of this?

edit: for clarity

1. That shitty Malard Filmore comic strip
yesterday in the paper said the same thing. "If you don't know the issues, Don't Vote!"

It would be pleasantly ironic if the stupid republican base listened.

3. Republicans don't want people to vote
The more people that vote, the lower their odds are of pulling off a victory.
They have practice this for years and the morons who continue to support them don't catch on.

Anyone who doesn't vote is throwing away the one right that US citizens enjoy more than any other nation. Do those people who don't vote deserve their freedoms? I know they don't deserve to complain when they are shit on by the government.

4. It worked for me
It's nice to see that Hastert apparently didn't bother to respond on any of their issues (his opponent, Laesch, responded on all of them). I guess Hastert is too busy what with all the coverups and scandals he's working on.

7. It worked for me about a month ago.
I was looking up the Tennessee race and, at the time, they endorsed Ford when it came down to the issues.
