Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it seems to me that more and more people are in agreement that the elections in 2000 and 2004 were stolen. Given the current news stories, do most people expect the Democrats to win and what will they do if they don't?

2. Believe it or not....
I think the media will. Have you noticed the media advertising a big Democratic win in November? If it turns out the opposite, I think the media will finally get off their asses and do some investigating.

7. Don't forget - Howard Dean is running things now.
Doctors are notoriously reluctant to give up even when everyone else says the patient doesn't have a chance. i don't see him calmly accepting fraud!

3. In the streets
People are afraid of protest, and with good reason. With the threat of disappearing hanging over all of us, it makes us all a bit less fearless. I was in college in the 60's and we thought nothing of marching in the street, on campus, wherever. We now have so much to lose. But we have so much to lose if we DON'T take to the streets. I would advise checking in with an attorney before you do it. Make arrangements for him/her to come to your aid if you are arrested.

5. No.
and most people in this country don't even follow politics. I don't know what it would take to get America off its collective ass, but if the debacle in Iraq hasn't, I can't imagine that the pukes retaining Congress will.

6. The "general public"? No. The public, by and large, don't care
enough about what is going on outside of their personal lives to muster any kind of "action", at all. There may be parts of the country where a large enough, "active" number of people will be motivated to move off of their asses, but in most of the country there won't be a peep...

8. They won't care until they can't put food on their table.
A lot of people I know and work with are apathetic about politics, and it really seems like they won't give a damn until their job is gone or they can't feed or clothe their kids. They're a product of the America's "I Got Mine" culture, IMO.

10. DId it ever occur to you that when some people are done
working to feed and clothe their kids, they don't have the energy for anything else?

9. No.
If there is evidence specific races are rigged, perhaps, but if all that happens is that we don't win, no, I wouldn't count on anything happening.
