Scorched Earth Strategy
Maybe it's time for a bunch of the Democrats to be seen on TV...play like they're going to be all soft-spoken and mealy-mouthed. "We want to talk about non-partisanship."

Then, when they're in front of the mic, pull a Howard Dean and say something so controversial and true, the Repugs go nuts and run to find another Dem to contradict the first Dem. And then the second Dem says "well, I disagree. What this person SHOULD have said was..." And then say something even MORE blunt.

The Repugs continue screaming, but they still want to operate by the same methods they've been using. They may trot out Lieberman, or another DINO, but they're going to need a Dem voice that's not already on the chopping block.

For a few moments, at least, the Dems need to be on the same page.
