Halliburton's 3Q Income Rises 22 Percent

Halliburton's construction and engineering unit, KBR, had $2.4 billion in revenue compared to $2.3 billion in the third quarter of 2005.

"This was an exceptional quarter for Halliburton," said Dave Lesar, the company's chairman, president, and chief executive officer in a prepared statement.

"The energy services group improved on its impressive second quarter results, growing revenue 9 percent sequentially," he said. "I'm also pleased with the quarterly performance of KBR, which posted a 7.5 percent operating margin in the energy and chemicals segment."

Halliburton's Iraq-related work contributed nearly $1.2 billion in revenue in the third quarter of 2006 and $45 million of operating income, a performance that pleased analysts.

"Iraq was better than expected," said Jeff Tillery, analyst with Pickering Energy Partners Inc. "Overall, there is nothing really to question or be skeptical about. I think the results are very good."

Another banner year for Dick Cheney! (Iraq is going "remarkably well!" Cheney recently stated.) The Veep owns 450,000+ shares and stock options!

1. before the war, halliburton had lost a billion a year for the prior 2
years, making his options worthless. I believe the first halliburton contract was for 2 billion, and it's gone ever upward since.

3. No bid contracts, personally ordered by VP Cheney.
Impeachable, IMO.

He's just a dirty war profiteer!

HAL stock in July of 2002 was at $9....

It was as high as $41 in May of this year...but due to theninstability in Iraq and pressure on the Bush administration and the Repuplicans the price has been falling steadily now itis at $29

4. And THAT'S all that's really important...
...anyone who has the nerve and/or stupidity to say Cheney and Company aren't traitors deserves to live in a country as mismanaged as this one currently is.

5. Do some research on the asbestos deal...Cheney NEEDED this war desperately
And when I say "needed," I mean needed. Or else, under SEC rules, Richard Cheney could have potentially been held personally liable for shareholder's losses as a result of the purchase of Dresser Industries. Halliburton's fortunes absolutely HAD to be turned around or else Cheney himself would be completely, totally ruined financially, with his assets and holdings tied up in court battles for the rest of his miserable fucking existence. This was a war not just of choice, but of PROFIT, and bailing Dick "Dick" Cheney's ass out of a very big fire that no asbestos suit would protect him from.

9. WaPo Page E03 - Jan 05. Buried by the media, by Congress
by the whole frikkin country.

One man brings down a whole country, is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths, and he gets a free pass.

Really sickening.

Thanks for the link. Bookmarking and will DO SOMETHING with this.

6. We should be grateful
Those people have free and open access to the treasury of the United States and they were kind enough to limit their growth to 22% I don't know what motivated their generosity, but they certainly could have stolen more if they had wanted to.

8. It's beyond Criminal what Cheney has done

Steal an election, fake a war, send people to kill and die, rig the bidding process and benefit unconscionably well for all this. Damn him to the lower bowels of hell...wish I were a believer.
