Denny Hastert is Protecting Our Kids
At least according to his latest mailer:
Denny backed the Deleting Online Predators Act to protect our children from cyber-predators at schools and libraries

(children in the halls of congress are on their own)

He's also working to "expand our access to affordable, quality healthcare by passing the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit for seniors". Yeah. How's that one working out?

And did you know that he "delivered across-the-board tax relief because he believes that families can spend their hard-earned money better than the government"? Yep, that extra $300 a year really helps to offset the extra $1000 a year I'm paying for gas!

What an incredible load of crap. Time to line the litter box again...

1. I just called his local & DC office
I'm in Hastert's district, and I've sent 3 or 4 emails with no response. Today, we received the flyer telling us all about how he's supposedly protecting our kids, so we need to vote for him. Angered that I would get campaign mail, and not a direct response, I contacted his local office first. The woman at the local office was rude, and would barely speak to me. So, I called the DC office, and spoke with a very on the spot and nervous aid. The conversation went something like this:

Me: I'm a resident in Hastert's disctrict, and I'm upset that I've sent 3 or so letters, with no response. Futhermore, in talking with other members in my district, they've received no response either. Yet, I receive campaign flyers.

Aid: What were the letters in reference to?

Me: For me personally, it was in reference to the Foley matter, and not protecting the pages.

Aid: Yeah, Umm, we have umm, a huge pile of them sitting here that haven't been gotten to yet.

Me: I'm really bothered by this. What makes him think that he has my vote by sending campaign letters, but not addressing issues that are important to me, or his other constituents. The people I've spoken to, are not going to vote for him.

Aid: Umm, yes, umm, well, we're getting over 100 calls and emails every day regarding this issue, with people saying umm.

Me: I'm completely ashamed that he is out there representing our district, but not us. He really should save us all some grace, and step down. His covering up this matter is not helping things at all for him.

Aid: Yes, well, we're getting over 100 calls and emails every day, and people agree with you on this, but umm we haven't had time to umm, address it at this time.

Me: Well, I just wanted to make sure he knows where I stand on this and other issues, and I'm not happy at all. Thank you.

Aid: Thank you.

4. It would require a bus. I'd feel sorry for the car's damage, if
He threw himself in front of that.

6. I'm sure he would use a clean fuel bus
and somehow turn the whole thing into a photo op.
