Hillary haters offended by the cross around her neck.

Hillary Clinton has appeared a handful of times this summer and fall with a cross around her neck, and it's an image that touches a nerve with the people who hate her.
But Clinton is among the most religious Protestants seeking the presidency in 2008. If she gets the Democratic nod, she could well be matched against a less openly devout Republican.

"She's actually the real deal, although a lot of people don't think of her as religious," said John Green, a senior fellow at the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life in Washingon.

Clinton, a Methodist like President Bush, though from a more liberal wing of that church, has appeared publicly wearing a cross intermittently during her time in the Senate. Her aides didn't respond to questions about whether she is wearing the symbol more now than in the past.

1. More people could take
a lesson from her on what your religion should entail. Obviously she doesn't let religious doctrine interfere with her duties. this dichotomy is laudable.

2. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't
And isn't it ironic that the whackjobs who demand they be able to do whatever they want wherever they want in the name of their religion have a problem with Hillary wearing a crucifix?

3. Should say "cross" not "crucifix"
Crucifix is Catholic, with Jesus attached.

Protestant cross is plain, with Jesus not attached.

We will now return to our regular programming.

5. Good.
I'm glad she's doing it. Sounds like the enemies complaining are right wing fundies. They don't own that cross anymore than they own the flag.

8. They'll tell you it's not a real cross
Obviously Hillary should burst into flames when touching it.

I don't hate her, don't want her as persident, has nothing to do with her gender, everything to do with her politics.

13. I don't know where you live, but spend some time in TX or the South.
The propaganda campaign against her, dating back to the Bill Clinton administration, has been very very successful.

In many areas, including where I live, it's COMMON to hear people refer to Hillary Clinton as "evil" or say that they HATE her.

These people would be hard pressed to explain WHY such strong words would be justified when asked about it, but it's out there.

19. No, they stole the "Name"!!
They took the term "Christianity " and perverted it to their own, quite non-spiritual agenda.
Anyone who reads the Bible, and understands the words written in red, know that what they call Christian, has no resemblance to their beliefs,

Gandhi said: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians, they are so different from your Christ". (may not have gotten the quote exactly right, going from memory.

17. Hillary is a churchgoer
She and Bill often went to a Methodist church in DC when he was President.

I would bet any kind of money that they attended far more church services during his presidency than our "pious" Resident GWB and Laura have.
