(well, the night of, actually) so don't know if this is just to be expected around election time. I've seen a certain amount of flame bait by low-count posters a lot recently.

Well, welcome to DU and sorry if your thread didn't turn out like you intended it to be.
You must admit, it was a little bit strange. It might not have been humour from the right but it still didn't serve our purpose as it made the Dems or Dean not really look good. It made them appear offensive and insulting.
In fact, it's this kind of rhetoric that could be used against the Dems.


But hey, you won't believe how many times I tried to be funny and it backfired. Either people didn't get me or it was just not funny. I'm simply not good at humour or satire ;). That's why I admire those who can do that.
So don't feel discouraged.
