... block "unanimous consent" in the Senate, submit Articles of Impeachment on Bush, Cheney, Rice, Gonzales, Rumsfeld (at a minimum), and travel the country telling everyone why they must vote on a paper ballot and not allow their votes to be counted in secret (by proprietary software).

Every day should be another day focused on Bush's crimes against humanity and the Constitution, torture boy's spying and cruelty, Cheney's avarice and passion for oligarchy, Frist's corruption, .... give them no quarter to rest or hide. Give the media no break; get in their faces and tell them what the news is, not the other way around.

That is what every Congressional Dem and every truly patriotic citizen should be doing from now until November 7, 2006.

Thank you.

Peace.

1. I'm so upset today.
Of course you're right! That's what a Democratic leader would do.

But they won't. We have no heros in our leadership. The gop has won. Game. Set. Match.

I can't get anyone to show me one thing that the Dems have filibustered in 5 years and I can't remember one either.

3. That is what I am explaining to each staff person to whom I'm speaking.
They are so out of touch, they do not realize that millions of us expect them to lead, to fight, to call out to all of us to work with them -- not asking for money, but showing us by taking dramatic action -- filibuster, walk out, block "unanimous consent," file Articles of Impeachment, and protect the vote.

If they would all just do it, they'd be amazed at two things, for sure -- how much support they have and how much more fun it is to be fighting for something rather than being bulldozed into oblivion.

Peace.

4. Jane Hamsher at firedoglake -- "We're On a Roll, Let's Make Some Noise"
It's great sport these days to watch traditional media types squirm because the left has finally had it and is calling them on their total bollixing of political news coverage. The momentum is definitely on our side.

The fact is if the Congressional Dems would start truly fighting they'd have us making it impossible for the media not to pay attention and "We the People ..." would be making the news and not allowing anyone any break when they mess with us -- as Mr. Mathews is about to learn and as Ms. Howell and Mr. Brady are learning; the hard way.

Peace.

5. Sounds great to stand on princple
And maybe..just maybe shutting the government down would be a good thing.

But I don't think middle america sees it that way. All I suggesting is that folks in the midwest understand politics and obstructionism more than they understand the Consitution.

They would not applaud such an uprising. They would not applaud disrespecting the Office of the President during the SOTU. They should. But it is more likely that it would backfire.

And ifwe walk out.....I am not sure we are politaclly advantages for more than a moment. I am not sure it is worth the downside.
