Bill Moyer - Call Now! Urge Filibuster of Alito
Dear Friends,

In my recent blog I reflected on the importance of filibustering Alito. Right now may be your last chance to take action on this Senate decision. Alito's belief in the "Unitary Executive" may be the straw that breaks the back of our already troubled democracy. I urge you to act now. Below are a few resources to make it easy for you.

Sincerely,

Bill Moyer
Executive Director
Backbone Campaign

3. Last Chance Folks
But it's looking hopeless - Feeling down-hearted right now. Fascism was not the kind of country I thought I was born in, nor would ever witness in my lifetime.

:(

I wouldn't have done that to the other side, ever. It's not what our country was founded on, rather the complete opposite.

6. I've had no compunctions about calling out of State Senators
As a Texan, I pretty much have to. I hope to get Hutchison to abstain, which she often has on votes addressing women's issues over the years. OK, I admit it, I'm desperate!

9. Of course
I'll be so glad when Barbara Ann takes her place! Kay has been an embarrassment, what is it about Texas and cheerleaders anyway?

11. Just called Reid and Durbin...
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 04:09 PM by spuddonna
Couldn't get thru to Reid, so I left voice mail. Called Durbin's office and got a staffer. Told him Alito needs to be filibustered, please pass the info to Durbin. He said, "Thank you, ma'am. I will pass that on!"

Off to see how many long distance minutes I have left... :)~

ETA - Just called Byrd - "Filibuster Alito!" Staffer said phones are ringing "off the hook"!

14. Just called Cantwell, Murray and Reid
Voicing my strong support for filibustering Alito and protecting the Republic. I also warned that if our democratic leaders continue to kowtow to corporate interests over those of the citizenry we will elect new leaders. They want to keep their cushy jobs. It's time to let them know there are consequences for being a collaborator.
