2. Be sure to call XM & tell them to block all Fox and right-wing channels
The XM service rep from Bangladesh was confused and surprised that I was blocking Talk Right, Family Talk, Fox "news" and Fox Sports, but not the channels with "dirty words."

I'm thinking about giving my dad a subscription and XM radio, with every channel except Air America Radio blocked.

3. Leave BBC World, XMPR and the Music channels open also..
.. except the block of 5 that Clear Channel litigated into existance (XM11, XM21, XM22, XM24 and XM161)

4. Is funding deducted?
Funding for the programming for Talk Right, Family Talk, Faux news, and Faux sports?

I wish I could choose which channels I didn't want to watch or fund with my money as far as cable TV is concerned.

6. Unfortunately, no...
... but having them BLOCKED does register as to their popularity

FYI... IIRC Family Talk pays for their channel to be on.. so you wouldn't be 'funding' it.. but a pro-active REJECTION.

5. This sounds great....
but I'm looking for a way to listen to AAR at work, other than streaming. Unfortunately, my job requires that I switch from broadband to modem for some of my duties, and when the modem connects, I'm automatically disconnected from the stream & internet.

I could probably get a lot more (business) done if I didn't have to stream.....
