Foley was ready to leave congress...Reynolds convinces him to run again
Disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley had two excellent job offers in the private sector this year when Rep. Tom Reynolds, National Republican Congressional Committee chairman, talked him into seeking a seventh term.

Although Reynolds says Foley was merely deciding whether to run again, the talk in Republican circles on Capitol Hill was that he was ready to leave Congress.
Republican Capitol Hill sources are the ones telling this to Republican writer Novak. So much for Democrats being the ones behind inflaming this scandal.

1. B-b-but Reynolds says he MADE FOLEY RESIGN! How does all this square?
It's in his own campaign ad! Candidates never lie in their ads, do they?

5. Holy Mole sauce, batman! so far, ZERO mention of this, and I've
been switching back and forth between CNN, CNN Headline, and MSNBC for the last two and a half hours

tweety sounded VERY angry about all this

how can we get this to him, as I think, if he's being at all honest (big supposition, I realize), he'd like to be the one to break it all over the M$M

that said, I don't think he will

how to get this out THERE????

3. "REPUBLICAN Rep. Tom Reynolds enables child predators."
How about that for a campaign slogan? :)

6. won't work, because the M$M is constantly warning all the Dem
guests on their appearances that they CAN'T DARE play politics with this. it's so unseemly!

don't you love that?

have you EVER heard them say that playing politics with EVERYTHING is ALL the pugs do, because they have nothing to offer the country, other than a fabric of lies and fearmongering

what a fricking JOKE!

8. It WILL work if people would just say it in public over and over.
Though a few candy-asses here have admonished me for it, I am not polite to repukes. Why be polite to your political enemies? The opposition is not, and they certainly have been effective at taking over all branches of the government, so why the hell should we continue to make the same goddamn mistake over and over? Be polite to an 89 yr old grannie who has moved past the point where she is willing to change her personal philosophy, but the "Joe Sixpack," who continues to vote against his own interests because of mindless party loyalty, or for some bigoted, inane reason, gets no pass from me.

After FEMA comes to your town, and you find your city destroyed and many of the people you knew are now dead or gone forever, you tend to disregard the dysfunctional notion that 'one must be polite' at all times. Fuck that!

12. hey, man, you know where I stand, you! Now, will DEMS stand up and
Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 02:10 PM by Gabi Hayes
shove it back in the media's face? I fervently hope so, but, based on past disappointment, I just said what I thought

I most sincerely hope you're correct, and further hope that this is one that general outrage is SO great that the wimpy dem pundits can just sit back and wave off repug blathering about what was DEM involvement as the insane rantings of the terminally delusional.

it's their noose (Felix); let them hang themselves. this is one case where they really need to just stay out of the way.

did you see my thread on Woodward, btw?

you can listen...link is there

4. We have this image of the Republican Party united like a brick wall
Sometimes the image fits - but in this case they resemble the keystone cops far more than they do the cigarrette smoking man.

One part wants to blame Democrats and Liberals for hounding a good if flawed man from office, and another part wants to take credit for how they, in traditional moral manner, pushed Foley out because he was unacceptable.

9. He's going to lose his Congressional seat because of it.
Reynolds is down by 15 points right now. That's horrible for a congressional campaign chair. Of course, he'd lose that position anyway after the Repukes lose the House by fifty seats.
