7. He is trying to make this program seem "offical" and "crucial"
... it is a tactic that seeks to encourage support for an illegal act by making it seem legal and routine.

Just as those who had protested in Georgetown yesterday, I strongly feel that we should make an enormous statement at the exact same time that the President is trying to do what Gonzales was trying to do yesterday.

What better time would there be to voice opposition to this than when the President, himself takes the focus in this dubious PR quest?

9. Bush is Walking into a Hornet's Nest at NSA
Due to the "need to know" policy, no one in that agency talks shop. Only a very few people were aware of the domestic spying program, and most other employees were outraged when it became public. For years those same employees had been assuring their friends and family that they only spy on foreign governments, and Bush just made a liar out of each one of them.

Bush has a problem, and I don't he is going mend any fences in Fort Meade.

11. I Don't Interpret Bush's Visit as Legitimatizing the NSA Program
so much as doing damage control. Whatever's in the news, I know a couple of NSA people, and although they don't talk about classified material, they can give an idea of the drift of things. And there is enormous discontent.

12. I am sure there is..
Despite my beliefs, I do not think that the secrecy of the NSA from within it's Constitutional boundarys should be compromised..
