Wow a Letter I found in Toledoblade.com
Republicans lost moral high ground:

President Bush and his Republican cohorts have been telling us for years that they have the high morals because they are all such devout Christan's. They are the true guardian's of our family values. How have they demonstrated these superior moral values?

They lied to us and started a war with a country that had done nothing to us, costing thousands of lives to be lost. The Republican Congress refused to raise minimum wage for poor working people while raising their own salaries several times. They have worked to slash veterans' benefits and cut combat pay. Millions of Americans have no health insurance, school funding has been cut, and multi- national companies have more access to our elected officials than citizens do.

Now Mr. Bush has succeeded in getting legislation passed that not only allows him to continue to hold people in prison with no legal rights of any kind, but he can still torture them! Apparently Christian values are reserved only for Christians.

None of these things are Christian values. It is time for people who believe that Christ actually taught us to love each other and work for good and peace of everyone to stand up and stop letting the un- Christian right wing represent their small-minded and hateful beliefs as true Christian values.

President Bush, who would Jesus torture?

1. What a great & ACCURATE letter.....
I think today's rightwing "christian" values are anything but. Their bloodlust is so shameful & un-christlike. Additionally, I think they forget that Jesus himself was tortured with spikes driven through his hands, and a crown of thorns placed on his head, and right there on the cross he said "father forgive them, for they know not what they do".

Terry Crandell (author) is a true patriot.

2. Republicans LOST the moral high ground? - They never had it!
Whenever ANYONE claims to be God's mouthpiece, you can be sure of two things: they're either insane, or they're full of shit. They certainly aren't moral.
