TennesseeGuerillaWomen: Protest Dobson's Anti-Gay Rally in Nashville 10/16
snip...

It's almost time for James Dobson to make an appearance in Nashville and help us get in the mood for a freaky Halloween.

The Focus on the Patriarchal Family guy will be in Nashville on October 16. Dobson will be the star speaker at his little anti gay rally over at Two Rivers Baptist Church.

That will be just three weeks before Tennesseans go to the polls to vote on the Hate Amendment.

5. Yeah - but he's still better than Corker.

At least he supports a woman's right to choose (except late-term abortions, which haven't been legal in the state in as far back as I can remember, anyway) and he supports public-school funding and, by virtue of one more vote in the Senate, could be the pivotal member voted in that would give, oh, I dunno, Leahy the chair of the Judicial Committee or Kent Conrad the chair of the Budget Committee or Robert Byrd the chair of Appropriations.

I realize he's not as liberal as most of this board would like, but Ford is the DEMOCRATIC nominee and, as such, I'm going to vote for him. I'd rather have a senator I agree with 90-95 percent of the time than one I rarely EVER agree with.

Besides, you're in California. What are YOU going to do about Barbara Boxer? At least my state has an excuse: it's quite a bit more conservative than yours. Why is YOUR Democratic senator such a push-over when it comes to following Bush on national security matters?

6. THANK YOU! I tire so quickly of the left and right coast liberals on here
who bash all the middle of the country Dems for not be liberal enough. You want a crazy reich wing republican or do you want another member of the Dem caucus with whom you may only agree 75% of the time?
A moderate Dem is better than a moderate Repub. And ANY Dem is better than a crazy religious nutball.
