GOP blames DEMS for uncovering the Foley cover-up
just think about it, the GOP it accusing us DEMS and launching an investigation to prove that the leak of this information was Democratic dirty trick.

So when exactly was the GOP leadership going to demand Foley leave? Before or after they urged him to run for re-election?

All together now, the GOP blames DEMS for uncovering their cover-up, this is all a last minute dirty trick by the Democrats.

Again, when was the Republican leadership going to demand Foley's resignation!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of that South Park about Catholic priests
Priest: "If this keeps up, we'll never be able to have sex with young boys again!"
Other priests: "AWWWWWWWWWWW! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

4. There's a very strong reason they are playing that card now!
Last night I heard some commentator say "Nothing motivates the Pub base like making then HATE the Democrats!"

They are trying to "kill the messenger" and deflect from the Foley folly!

5. Who cares where the info came from?
Seriously ... does the GOP honestly believe that parents across America are going to say, "You know, I was really outraged and disgusted by this whole Foley thing, but anyone who leaked the information about the GOP cover-up is far worse than Foley!" :eyes:

I don't believe for a second that the Dems were behind the so-called leak. I hope they speak-out against these ridiculous accusations and make it clear to the voters that the Republicans are furious because their cover-up of Foley's behavior has been made public before an election. Think about that ... they are not furious about Foley's behavior or the fact that GOP leaders covered it up for years, they're furious that the information was made public. If it was up to them, Foley would still be in Congress, no one would be aware of his actions and the teens involved in the page program would still be in danger. Doesn't it prove once and for all that power is more important to the GOP than the American people or their children?

9. This is not time to get snarky--this is time for a truth blast.
Sure, it's ridiculous, but there's a reason they're doing it.

Their polling must show them that it works on the people they want to target. It gives those people who want to vote Republican but are disgusted by the scandal reason to either stay home instead of voting for a Democrat, or to hold their nose and vote Republican anyway because "both parties are bad".

It also gives a simple rallying cry to their base.

Don't underestimate the power of the Republican echo chamber to take a seemingly unbelievable idea, raise questions and pound these talking points home.
