Let me get this straight about our Conservative Christian friends

Start a war under pretense of a lie... no problem.

Authorize torture and abuse of war prisoners regardless of guilt in war crimes... no problem.

Give tax money away to the rich while the poor, crippled, young, and aged that Jesus cared about are tossed to the wolves... no problem.

Mount copies of the unscriptural Catholic version of the Ten Commandments in courthouses and schools... no problem.


But one congressman turns out to be gay and just as corrupt and filanderous as Newt Gingrich was... and now we got a problem!

I think the fundies might have their priorities just a little screwed up here.

There's no giving a pass to a lot of the hypocrisies of the fundies, but I think you're missing where the rubber hits and misses the road.

While killing is sinful, sex is even moreso...and more of a threat. Don't confuse the gay with the predator...cause that's what got the alarm bells in fundie land going. This is Southern White women...many who tolerated booosh and his war on terror, but can't tolerate a child predator or those who are trying to cover his actions up. Yes it takes something this base, but it's because its something they can relate to when they look at their son or daughter.

War is outta sight outta mind and I can't tell you how many times I've heard Repugnicans say "well they volunteered". Many are in denial about what's going on there and in total confusion as to what Iraq is about and who the enemy really is. It's easier to just turn the whole thing off.

Also...there's nothing the corporate media loves is a good sex scandal. It sells and it does it for the same reason a flasher does his thing...you look...be you turned on or turned off, you've looked.

I don't care what it takes, and if its this tawdry scandal that opens enough moderate and independent minds to finally get off the dime and join us on Nov. 7th and it depresses the vote to only the flying monkeys and "true believers" and gives the Democrats a majority in one or both Houses, that's all that counts.
