IMHO.... Something ain't right here.

RE: Foley Scandal

It seems in the past there is normally someone from the FBI that comes forward, holds a press conference, promises to get to the bottom of this, see if there was any criminal implications. I just don't see the Justice Department involved in this is any visual way. Why is this not a possible criminal investigation?

Imagine if this were a fifty-two year old heterosexual man and a sixteen year old girl? :banghead:

2. The FBI is involved in the coverup
The FBI is in a bit of trouble here as well. They are laying low trying to figure out what to do, how to spin it, and also busy losing evidence.

Has every branch of Government been compromised?

If that is the case, this all may be moot. No way to win.

Here's a post from earlier. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2331671

4. Exactly. I'm betting that the slime trail goes right up to Abu Gonzales
Perhaps after the new Congress is seated the investigation of FBI wrongdoing in the Foley-Hastert scandal can begin. There will be many other subjects clamoring for prosecutors' time, however.

6. I saw a briefing yestrday where a rep from the FBI said they were working
on the investigation, but it was just the beginning, so don't look for a lot of info quickly. Je saod something about "sending objectionable emails to minors was NOT a crime. To actually have a crime, you would need the perp to have made an offer or request for sex, and at least attempt to establish a time and place."

That's why I posted that email that asked the Paige to come to Washington, and he could stay at Foley's house in exchange for oral sex was just what the FBI needed to prove a felony!

They also said there would not be any more briefings for a while as they wowrked through the investigative process.

8. Fight ON between CREW and FBI
FBI claims they did nothing becasue complaint from CREW with emails was received redacted. CREW's Melanie Sloan denies the emails were redacted in any way.

Time to go to court.
