My ticket to GITMO: We CAN Force All Paper Ballots for THIS Election !
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 11:09 AM by elehhhhna
We, The People, CAN Force All Paper Ballots for THIS Election. How?

If groups of 10 -20 reg'd voters hit their own polling places, when they open, and sit-in to demand paper ballots. Use peaceful CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE to shut the election down BEFORE THEY F WITH IT. CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE is called for, indeed, demanded of our citizens by the Constitution. If we stop the election until paper can be ordered and the election rescheduled, SO BE IT.

If it causes an uproar in the press, FANTASTIC. We'll will be joined by Dem, Reep & Indep. voters who happen to arrive while we're protesting. WHo would counter protest AGAINST paper ballots and accurate vote counts? When the issue is in ones FACE, one is forced to pick a side. This is the only way I see our forcing HONEST elections this year.

If I go to GITMO or disappear for this post, FINE. If my hubs log on to say I'm gone, y'all GET ON IT, please?

1. Now, now....
We don't need to do civil disobedience, not yet.

What we need to do is FLOOD election officials with MOUNTAINS of ABSENTEE BALLOTS (and you can deliver your AB vote to the polling place on election day (check local rules), or mail it registered/return receipt requested, or Fed Ex, to insure delivery; also fill it out carefully, to avoid disqualification).

If everybody who despises the Bush Junta--60% to 70% of the American people--votes by Absentee Ballot this fall, the reign of these diabolical machines will be OVER.

With a big enough citizen boycott of these machines, local election officials will not be able to defend this extremely insecure and insider hackable electronic voting system, that no one will vote on, and will be forced to reform, or to resign.

It's very simple. Don't vote on the machines!

-------------------------

And I would not count on voters approving your obstruction of their right to vote. Also, what if you are in an area where there is going to be a landslide for a good candidate--so big they can't rig it? You want to obstruct that event?

Civil disobedience is a very serious undertaking, and an individual decision based on conscience. I would give it considerable thought, meditation and consultation with others. Are you prepared to stand alone? Are you prepared for the full potential consequences? Is it the right time and the right place and the right stand to take?

2. For every person that says do not vote on machines
there are just as many who will say do not use absentee ballots because they are the easiest to dispose of. There is no way of knowing who is right.

6. What you said
And I would not count on voters approving your obstruction of their right to vote.

That's what I was thinking.

4. If this were to happen
in each and every polling place around the country, there would be a distant chance of success. But it won't. 10-20 voters would simply be arrested and taken away. Without having voted. To think that an election would be re-scheduled is simply fantasy. The only rescheduling that I know of was the NYC primary on September 11, 2001.

And a post like this isn't going to rise to the level of being noticed by Homeland Security. None of us are that important or that much of a threat to this administration.
