So CBS News has hired a former Bush/GOP flack as Political Consultant?
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 10:00 AM by Armstead
Last nite on the CBS Evening News, Katie had a meaningless, cable-style back-and-forth between James Carville and some GOP blonde (whose name I forget) who until very recently was one of the main staff spokespeople for the White House.

Katie intruduced her as a new "political consultant" for CBS News. She was simply repeating all of the Rove Talking Points.

Yeee Gods. This woman is certainly attractive, but she has been one of the paid robots who are interviewed to spout the White House line and help implement Rove's Spin Machine.

A once-great news organization has now been reduced to this. The quaint old-fashioned notion of reporters covering the news has been replaced by chattering robots who will try to tell us what to think.

I'm sure Uncle Walter and Dan Rather are glad they're outta that place.

2. Yes....Katie just plays one on TV
The GOP Blonde I'm referring to was actually in the emply of the White House.

Katie just panders while earning her millions by soaking the news division dry.

3. I just so happened to see that last night.
I will never watch any show that Katie is on ever again. She said, in so many words, in reference to the Foley scandal, "So how long will we have to put up with Democrats making this a political issue?" I almost kicked in my TV screen.

5. I remember that -- Actually Katies question was even more insulting
In asking it she used some kind of snide phrase regarding the Democrats, something like "gleeful" referring to the Democrats' reaction.

I can;t remember exactly, but it sounded like wq question Sean Hannity would have asked.

7. It was pretty vile.
If there was any doubt left that she's conservative shill, my mind is definitely made-up now.

8. Oh I remember what was said!!!
To open up the interview, Katie said that with this scandal rocking Washington, Democrats were lining up to "exploit" it. Then she went on to pander on about how Democrats were happy and then said something to the effect of "Really,Should Democrats be gleeful about this?" in her serious perky Katie voice.

CBS News will no longer be on in my house. (It was only on last night because my wife had been watching the local news and we just didnt change the channel).

4. Katie, SIT DOWN behind the desk, and READ THE 'prompter
Quit the cutesy special segments, the walking around. Oh, some remote reporting, like in the Green Zone, would be nice.

6. Outside the Green Zone would be even better.
I think she should get out & see somthing of the Iraqi countryside, visit some of the small towns, get a real taste of the place...

9. Since Iraq is making so much progress
She should really get out and spread her perkiness to the Iraqi people. Tell them how splendid things are and how better off they should feel! Come on Katie!

Preemptive :sarcasm: just to make sure everyone realizes it.

10. Hey, it's a competitive business --
CBS has to keep up with Faux News, after all.

CBS can't simply let Faux be the champion liars, unchallenged.
