Has ABC redeemed themselves?
I have been wondering that. Has ABC, by refusing GOP bribes to cover up the story, redeemed themselves for Path to 9/11? The way I look at it, Path to 9/11 ended up back firing. It gave Clinton the opening for his famous interview. It broke the invisible barrier that prevented people from talking about who really was at fault. Now it's the GOP and the Bush Admin. wich is getting the brunt of the blame (rightfully so). So can we end the boycott of Disney and ABC? Has the reporting of the Foley scandle and all it's players made up for Path to 9.11?

1. No, the Corporate Media need to do an awful lot more than that...
...to redeem themselves.

3. Well I never boycotted Disney so probably not the right person
to ask. But you are talking about two different branches of the same company - to imagine that ABC/Disney speaks with one voice doesn't seem to line up with what our actual experience is.

4. No, they haven't redeemed themselves.
IMHO, that's not the way it works. It's not their job to carry water for one side and then carry water for the other in order to provide "balance". Their primary obligation should be to the truth. They ignored that obligation when they sold path to 9/11 as being an accurate portrayal of the 9/11 report.

(I was not boycotting them, BTW. But I don't watch much TV except for news.)

5. No.
One good reporter at ABC News did his job and is a stand up guy. The editors at ABC News who did not bury his report stood up and did their job. That does not redeem ABC corporate for that piece of crap PT911 and it remains to be seen what transpires within the news organization as a consequence of breaking this story. I think it is certain that there will be consequences.

7. No. They should report the fucking truth. REGARDLESS! They can't
borrow from one credit card to pay another.

Who says anyway that they should do something to redeem themselves. They shouldn't have done the shit in the first place.

I know ABC news and ABC entrtainment are different arms but people see them as one sold out fucked up organisation.

Once you betray trust you NEVAH get it back.

8. The news section has been running news
but a sex scandal is tabloid stuff. If they keep hammering on the duration of the coverup by the top brass, then they might be accused of reporting actual news.

The entertainment department is dedicated to propaganda. Shun them.

10. Sure they have right along with Rush and Coulter
Just because they are forced to do the news doesn't mean they have changed their BIAS. Remember they held onto this story until they were forced to break it. Fox also held onto the story but they never got the word it was going to break so now they have to play catch up. Since Fox is also talking about the scandal do you think we should listen to them as well?

16. hell no! just because one guy finally managed to get out the truth
at ABC? ( no doubt ONLY because the subject is so salacious, not because children are endangered with the Culture of Corruption in charge.) If they did their jobs like this for a year running, or even a month, I would be impressed. This was a fluke.

17. Not in my eyes.
The Path to 9-11 was propaganda. I expect a major news organization to report the truth. I would hate to think that ABC has decided to do some truthful reporting to make up for their shitty program. If they want to "make up" for airing The Path, they should air a piece that takes a truthful look at what led to 9-11.
