Check out the headline, then look at the victim's name.....

Police: Suspect's Basement Like 'Silence Of The Lambs'
Man Suspected Of Torturing, Killing Women

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Authorities arrested a man Tuesday night who they believe brutally tortured and killed a woman and may have tortured at least two other women in his east Oakland home, Oakland homicide Detective Tony Jones said during a press conference Wednesday.

On Aug. 26, Earl Stefanson, 41, drove a woman suffering from severe trauma over her entire body to Highland Hospital, Jones said. The woman, later identified as 36-year-old Leslie Lamb of San Leandro, was pronounced dead at the hospital....

Police said Stefanson tortured her in a room set up in his basement, which they described as frightening.

Jones wouldn't elaborate on what the basement looked like, except to say that "it was a 'Silence of the Lambs' type of setting down there."

1. Scraping the bottom of the journalistic barrel.
That's disgusting. Parallels or not, they should have avoided that headline.

flack for Richardson's token opponent in NM (Dendahl, he has to lose an election every few years) was found badly beaten in a parking lot.

She's in critical condition and on a vent, but she's indicated she knew her attacker. He used a tire iron.

Want to bet they blame Democrats? Feminists? Liberals? Our permissive culture?

Anything but the man and the general attitude toward women.

On edit: and yes, that headline was unforgiveable. Whoever wrote it is going to have to live it down for a very long time. He'll be on the wedding and funeral beat for the next six months.

4. "The Silence of Ms. Lamb" would've made a better headline...
Gross, but apropos.
