Firstly, we should value elections and their democratic processes. However, while it is the right of any candidate to raise and spend money, their money should only come from private citizens who give anonymously and at a reasonable sum. Also, term limits on all of our officials are necessary to prevent permanent power brokering. By doing this, you increase the honesty of our elected officials by removing the forces of corruption.
Secondly, we must value education as a national right to all the citizens as a means of security. By having an educated and productive populace there is a two-fold benefit. First, by allowing more scholarly work we can continually increase the tools we have to protect the nation’s citizens in every area of life. Secondly, by educating everyone we create a more competitive market-place ultimately yielding more capital that can be used to aide the security of the nation.
Thirdly, we must provide adequate healthcare to every citizen in the nation for personal security. Healthcare should be a fundamental right every citizen in any nation that claims to be civilized enjoys. While premium healthcare options are the right of anybody who can afford them, no person should ever be subjected to healthcare that is necessary but unaffordable. Also, necessary medication should not be only a privilege the rich can enjoy, but a right given to all citizens. By doing this we allow for the citizenry to lead longer and healthier lives where potential can be actualized and productivity can be maximized.
