24. still. . .
how long? I mean some day you just gotta wake up and smell the coffee, don't you?

I just can't fathom how the average American is so affraid of terrorism while they let creditors, the healthcare industry, and corporate America in general practically rape them over and over every day.

3. That's pretty overt
He's got to be pretty desperate at this point - or alternatively he knows he's got to act desperate or give away the fact that they already got the election sewn up.

I guess only Republicans can turn one of the greatest blunders into a win for themselves. They screwed up with 9/11, that has become pretty clear recently. Yet, they will continue to proclaim how they are the ones who are strong against terrorism and how voting for the Dems will make the country unsafe. The record doen't support their claims.

13. I will let Dr. Dean anwer that crap for me
WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, President Bush again engaged in misleading partisan attacks, by falsely asserting that Democrats have a "softer side" when it comes to fighting terrorism. Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement responding to President Bush's latest failed, stay-the-course rhetoric:

"What's softer than giving up the hunt for Osama bin Laden and ignoring the 16 intelligence agencies who told him that the war in Iraq is making us less safe at home and around the world? It's time for the truth. All the tough talk in the world cannot hide the fact that President Bush and his GOP Congress's bad decisions have hurt America's security."

14. That would make sense, if the threat of terrorist attacks wasn't worse...
but it is.

It would also make sense if our economic security weren't threatened by the staggering financial costs of his war of choice... but it is.

It would also make sense if our emotional security weren't threatened by his party's constant campaign of fear... but it is.

How can people STILL believe his lies... after all this?

I think someone up thread has it right... they're just trying to make some last ditch effort to make the stolen elections not appear to be so obviously stolen.

Good luck with that, ya pack of conscienceless criminals.

16. Vote Republican, and you can count on...
1) High gas prices indefinitely
2) A misguided foreign policy that pisses off the rest of the world to the point that they will give their own lives to take ours
3) Congressional pages who will be buggered by Repiglican congressmen

I'm sure I missed a few points, but you get the pic...

20. How long before he goes off the deep end ... live on national television?
His rhetoric is becoming increasing desperate ... and offensive. He's getting as close as he possibly can to calling the Democrats "enemies of the state!" Partisan mud-slinging is one thing, but this crap goes far beyond that.

He's on the verge of losing it completely ... and when he finally does, it's not going to be pretty! :scared:

25. The Iraq Unraveling (video, and Colin Powell turns on Bush policy)

The Iraq Unraveling

Former General Colin Powell blasted the Bush administration's "stay the course" catastrophe in Iraq today.

Video

Watch the Ware video. It's worse than we are being told.

"Only the Iraqi people can resolve this," Powell said.

U.S. troops have to stay in Iraq for "some time," he said. "But there is a limit to the patience of the American people."

Powell was the featured speaker at this year's distinguished Carlson Lecture at the University of Minnesota.

In Iraq, "staying the course isn't good enough because a course has to have an end," Powell said. ...

Powell: Staying course in Iraq isn't enough

There is also the case of bloody Baghdad.

According to Juan Cole, 21 U.S. soldiers have been killed since Saturday, with 8 killed yesterday alone.

Snip...

It's very clear that as George W. Bush heads into categorically undeniable lame duck status that his desire to actually do anything about Iraq will become less and less. He's said before that he's going to hand it off to the next presidents, plural, meaning that it will take more than two administrations to get the job done. This puts Joe Lieberman Democrats in a difficult position, as Ned Lamont (h/t) said today.
