I stand by my vote.
I get so sick and tired of democratic leaders not portraying themselves confidently when having to answer for past votes. If you voted against the 87 billion then dammit stand up proudly and say that you would do it again given the same circumstance. There is no reason to be ashamed for doing the right thing. On the flip side, if in hindsight they realize that they cast the wrong vote then own that as well! Mabye I am just naive when it comes to politics but I have a hard time hearing our leaders fumbling for words especially when they have no reason to. Now that we are in the last legs of the midterms, candidates voting records with be used against them tenfold. I hope our leaders choose to stand tall and fight confidently.

1. How is it you can't separate media spin from FACT? EVERY congressional
vote taken has a senator or congressman voting for ONE version of a bill before they vote AGAINST the other version.

Only STUPID people fell for that spin because the Republicans have no respect for their ytarget audience and neither do they media whores who push their spin for them.

3. I hope you are not calling me stupid.
I can separate spin quite nicely thank you. I simply meant that candidates don't always rise above the spin and defend their votes.

4. I said the spin was DIRECTED at stupid people. It's up to us to SEPARATE

the spin from fact, not just accept spin and further its spread.

For some reason you are using the spin as an example as if it's relative to the point you are claiming to make when it isn't.

5. I don't accept the spin......
and I don't think our leaders should either. I think they should control the debate with the truth. In order to do that they will need to confront the spin not ignore it.

2. "the courage of my convictions"
This is what voters need to see more of from congressional Dems. If you appear to be backing away from previous public policy positions, you are. In politics perceptions become reality.

This is not spin or accepting right-wing versions of the truth, this is the hard cold facts of politicking on the national stage
